Momentum Through
Team Development
Are you looking to create a team with greater trust and stronger relationships so you can collectively be more energized, productive and collaborative?
Connection
It’s possible to create a team that is greater than the sum of its parts,to leverage the storming that happens when a new team forms, resulting in a shared vision, inspiring values, and clear agreementsfor how to effectively collaborate with one another.
There are ways to uncover, celebrate, and leverage the unique genius and diversity of each person on your team, creating a sense of belonging through connection so that everyone can thrive in their work, and so you can collectively make the contribution you are here to make.
Let’s Get Started.
Momentum through Connection
TEAM DEVELOPMENT
I love working with leaders to help their teams make the journey from good to GREAT. This journey begins with the leader’s sense that their team could be more energized, more productive, and more collaborative.
Usually some type of organizational change has been brewing in the background: rapid growth, a recent reorganization, or new leadership. The old way of working together is being questioned and the new way has yet to be revealed.
That’s when leaders find me. They have a desire to see their team thrive, but they’re not quite sure how to make that happen.
How does the team development process work?
My approach is consultative in nature and begins with understanding the leader’s vision for the team, their objectives for this engagement, and what success will look like. Once the vision is clear, we step into the assessment phase where we gather data to gain a better understanding of team dynamics.
Next we move into the design phase where I work in partnership with the team leader(s) to create experiences that will meet the objectives outlined in the vision phase. The design is implemented as we enter the intervention phase which is an overly serious word for what is usually a joyful process of bringing a team together (IRL or virtually) in service of its thriving.
I create conditions for deep democracy, where all voices are heard and welcomed, and all of my interventions support a team in deepening their connection to themselves, each other, and the whole. Interventions can include workshops, facilitated dialogue, team coaching, individual coaching, and training.
The final phase of the team development process is to follow-up with the leader(s), assess progress toward our objectives, celebrate successes, and identify any areas that need additional attention.

good to great? Let’s connect and explore how we might partner together!

Snapshot
Ken C., CIO, Global Tech
& Media Company
The Opportunity: After experiencing insights about his leadership style through the lens of CliftonStrengths, this CIO wanted to bring a strengths approach to his leadership team, and then his entire organization.
The Tools: Individual CliftonStrengths reports provided critical insights and language to help team members understand and communicate their strengths to others. Team reports aggregated individual data and provided insight into the dynamics of the system.

Insights from Team Strengths Data
This is an excerpt of a Team Summary report created by Gallup and leveraged in my Unique Genius team development workshops.
This summary is based on a roll-up of individual strengths assessments and provides essential insights about one’s team.
In this example, you can see that the most common strength is “Arranger” and that the team is strong in Executing and Relationship Building strengths.
Influencing and Strategic Thinking strengths are less represented in this sample report.
The Path: In partnership with key stakeholders, I developed and delivered a program that:
Trained managers in strengths-based leadership
Provided insight to individual contributors on their unique strengths and ways to leverage those insights to further their career development
Facilitated cross-functional workshops where team members identified ways to collaborate more effectively with one another based on their new understanding of each others’ strengths.
